User Experience Designer, TD Bank

A product designer with a focus on User Experience

At TD, I started in retail banking (EasyWeb), where I designed an award-winning self-serve portal, a goal planning dashboard and a simpler account type change. These days, I’m on Business Banking, designing tools for companies that manage their money online.

I design banking experiences people can trust when the stakes are high. My award-winning work on TD’s Digital Customer Assistance Portal gave customers in collections a self-serve way to get back on track. Now I’m designing for TD Business Banking.

Selected work

Work that moved the needle.

Hey, I’m Shobhit!

I’ve been designing at TD for about five years. I started on retail banking, then worked on a self-service portal for customers in collections, and now I’m on the Business Banking team working on things like wire transfers and audit logs.

Most of my work happens before anything looks pretty. I figure out how things are organized, what happens when something goes wrong, and how to word it so legal will actually sign off. Banking taught me that, and it’s the kind of problem I’d happily take on in any industry. I also finished my Master of Information at U of T this year, focused on UX design.

When I’m not working, I’m probably playing basketball, eating some bomb food, watching a movie, reading a book, playing a game or driving my car somewhere in the GTA.

My journey

Experience and Education

June 2021 — Present

UX Designer

Toronto Dominion Bank (TD Bank) · Toronto

I design digital banking products at TD. I led the Digital Customer Assistance Portal from research to launch. It's a self-service tool for customers in collections, and it won TD's Project of the Year in 2024. Since early 2026 I've been on Business Banking, where I'm designing a new Statements centre and working across wires, permissions, and audit logs.

September 2023 — April 2026

Master of Information — UX Design

MI · University of Toronto · St. George

I went back to school to sharpen the foundations behind the work I was already doing at TD, studying UX design alongside my full-time role. The program pushed me further into research and gave me room to work outside banking. My ICA Canada project started here as coursework.

June 2025 — January 2026

Lead Product Designer & Framer Developer

ICA Canada · Toronto

What started as a class project became a real website. I led a team of three designers to rebuild ICA Canada's site in Framer, from research and site structure to the final build, and the client adopted it in full.

January 2021 — April 2021

Designer and Researcher

Just Vertical · Toronto

I partnered with the Head of Marketing & Growth to build Just Vertical's brand guidelines and a full brand overview from the ground up. I did secondary research into how other companies in the space present themselves, which gave our design discussions something solid to work from. We presented and refined the work as a team, and it landed well with stakeholders.

May 2019 — September 2019

UX Design Intern

Toronto Dominion Bank (TD Bank) · Toronto

My first UX job, and the one that got me hooked. I joined a team of UX designers, visual designers, strategists, and a copywriter to redesign EasyWeb. I designed the taxonomy for both EasyWeb and the TD mobile app, ran user research and usability testing to back up our decisions, and pitched ideas across both products.

September 2018 — April 2022

Communication, Culture & Information Technology (CCIT)

BA · University of Toronto · Mississauga

This is where I found design. The CCIT program mixed communication theory with hands-on digital work, and I earned a Certificate in Digital Communications from Sheridan College alongside it. By the time I graduated, I'd already done a UX internship at TD, worked with Just Vertical, and started full-time at TD.
